About Us My name is Chelsea Nance Moore. I am a lover of natural sunlight, inspirational quotes, and all things health-related. People are my passion which has led to me to this profession that I am certain is my purpose in this world. My students have given my life value in ways I wasn't aware I needed, and for that I am so incredibly thankful. Each day with them is an absolute gift and I find myself wondering how on Earth I got so blessed to know each and every one of them.
I am an only child to parents who have been role models of ambition, morals, dedication, and consistency. They are my very best friends in the world and I cannot imagine living a day without them. My father is an exceptionally talented session bassist in Nashville and my mother is a first grade teacher at Cedar Grove Elementary in Smryna. I owe all that I am to the two of them and am so proud to see so much of each of them in myself. On September 29, 2018 I married my favorite person and officially became Mrs. Moore! We are looking forward to a lifetime of laughing together! I am a Rutherford County native, having graduated from La Vergne High School in 2007. I am so proud to call this place home. After high school, I went to Middle Tennessee State University where I pursued a degree in Health Education/Lifetime Wellness. During my college years I was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, an organization that shaped me in more ways than I could ever begin to explain. I am forever grateful for the impact ADPi had on my character. I completed my Masters of Education Degree at Bethel University in 2017 in Instructional Leadership and Administration. My next academic step is to work towards my PhD in Health Education, leading me to a career in higher education. My teaching philosophy can be summed up in a single quote by Rita Pierson: "Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be." Every day I enter my classroom willing to be that champion for every face staring back at me. I feel it is my duty to ensure that they believe so deeply in themselves that they understand just how capable they are of changing lives in the same way that I hope I am changing theirs. My belief is similar to that of John C. Maxwell who said, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." If my students walk away from my class knowing anything it is first and foremost that they are cared for, believed in, and unconditionally loved. I believe in teaching life as I feel my job is to first make them good people before I make them good students. The rest simply follows. |
